Upon arrival in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Asia Air. We took a taxi to the JW Marriott, in the middle of the city. The city seems like a massive construction site. Cranes towering all over the city, a sign of robust economic activity. We got in and dad checked us in, but it turned our that our connecting rooms were taken by someone else, even though we had booked it a month and a half ago! They had one room ready and said they would have another ready shortly. While we waited, we walked to the twin Petronas towers. The Petronas Towers is a significant symbol for Malaysia, representing creativity, resourcefulness and future of the country. We got a ticket for the next day to go up to the 86th floor to get a view of the city. In the meantime, we went to the grounds of the tower take pictures. There was a pretty fountain leading up to the towers. Some sharp entrepreneurs, mostly men, were asking us over and over again to buy their wide phone camera lens. We said 'no' over and over again. But we finally decided to let someone take the picture with the lens for a fee. It was a great.
After the time at Petronas towers, we were back at the J.W. Marriott . Our rooms were separated. Following extensive discussion, management agreed to move us another of their facilities, The Ritz Carlton. Our suite is awesome! It was at least 3 times as big as one regular room, and it had an office, a living room, a dining room, 4 bathrooms, a kitchen, and 3 bedrooms. This may be the most luxurious hotels we have stayed in; afternoon tea, live chamber music for dinner, etc.
We drank some lemon tea and mom and dad left to the lounge to get some drinks. We got ready for bed went to bed. Tomorrow was going to be a fun and busy day!
